This Handbook includes everything we need as a community to protect our most valuable and vulnerable resource – our children. The Handbook offers advice and facts on everyday activities, cyber safety, bullying, crossing roads etc. to the more unusual incidents such as such as floods and fires and even goes into details on the effects of smoking, caffeine and drugs.
Child Safety Hub
An online resource for parents, carers and teachers. Child Safety Hub responds in a practical way to the myriad of dangers facing children, whether they be at home, school or out and about. Tips and information are provided for parents and ideas for children. All importantly, the emphasis is on prevention.

Child Safety Handbook Launch
Her Excellency, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO officially launched the Child Safety Handbook at Government House in 2011, a much needed and vital guide to assist children, parents and teachers. “New South Wales Police Legacy has once again embarked on a most admirable endeavour to benefit our most precious resource — our children. With a background in child and adolescent health, I am indeed delighted with the development of this Handbook, which focuses on various issues that our young people must deal with nowadays, often at earlier years than ever before.”
About NSW Police Legacy
NSW Police Legacy is the NSW Police Force Charity. Our commitment is to build on the care and support of over 20,000 serving and retired police officers and their families during times of tragedy and need. Initially founded to support bereaved families following the loss of their loved one, our support now extends to include police officers and their families experiencing challenging times in their lives. Our police family has grown to include not only families suffering from loss and grief, but those experiencing misfortune that require extra support.
